As your Travel Advisor and fellow Disney enthusiast, I just returned from an incredible 4-night cruise aboard the Disney Wish, and I can't wait to share every magical detail with you! The Check-In Magic ✨ Let's start with embarkation day at Port Canaveral (just an hour from Disney World - perfect for combining parks and cruise!). Here's a little secret: we booked a GTY (guarantee) oceanview room, and Disney sprinkled some pixie dust our way! We were upgraded to a deluxe oceanview stateroom that could sleep 5 people. Talk about starting the vacation with a bang!
Pro Tip: While GTY rooms don't guarantee an upgrade, they can sometimes lead to magical surprises like ours!
First Day Adventures The first few hours onboard are always bustling with excitement. We headed to Marceline Market (named after Walt Disney's hometown - how's that for Disney magic?) for lunch. From sophisticated charcuterie boards to classic chicken tenders, the variety was impressive.
Our Dining Journey 🍽️ One thing I love about Disney Cruise Line is how they transform dining into an entertainment experience. Here's our four-night culinary adventure:
Night 1: Arendelle • Dined with Anna, Elsa, and friends • Interactive entertainment while you eat • Perfect for both families and Disney adults!
Night 2: Palo Steakhouse (Adults Only) • Beauty and the Beast-inspired decor • Exceptional service • Worth every penny of the additional charge • Travel Advisor Tip: Book this one early - it fills up fast!
Night 3: 1923 • Old Hollywood glamour meets Disney heritage • Named after the year Walt Disney Studios was founded • Elegant atmosphere that celebrates Disney's animation history
Night 4: Worlds of Marvel • Interactive dining experience • Perfect for superhero fans • High-tech entertainment while you dine • The perfect finale to our dining rotation
Entertainment That Never Stops! 🎭 The Disney Wish truly lives up to its name when it comes to activities. We participated in: • Karaoke sessions (yes, I belted out some Disney tunes!) • Disney trivia (tested my Disney knowledge!) • Drawing classes where we learned to sketch Groot and Hei Hei • Bingo (always a cruise classic) • "Match Your Mate" - hands down the funniest adults-only show you'll find at sea!
Ports of Call: Strategic Relaxation 🏖️ Our cruise included stops in Nassau and Castaway Cay. Here's my Travel Advisor insider tip: Sometimes the best port day is a ship day! We stayed onboard in Nassau to enjoy the less crowded pools and amenities.
Castaway Cay in February Despite the "chilly" 75°F weather (hey, it's the Bahamas' version of winter!), we made the most of our day: • Early morning visit to Serenity Bay (adults-only beach) • Peaceful sunbathing (maybe a little too peaceful - got slightly sunburned!) • Delicious BBQ at Cookie's Too • Travel Advisor Tip: Don't let the "cooler" weather fool you - pack that sunscreen!
